TILLAMOOK, OR- On Friday, September 20, 2019 at approximately 9:16 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near mile post 62.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 1992 Chevrolet C1500, operated by Randall Sisson (57) of Bay City, was southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a 2017 Ford U Haul truck operated by Darryl Borg (66) of Nehalem.
Sisson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Borg and his passenger Steven Borg (40) of Nehalem were not injured.
OSP was assisted by the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office, Tillamook Police Department, Tillamook Fire Department, and ODOT.
BEAVER, OR - On Thursday, September 20, 2019, at approx. 6:47pm, Tillamook 911 was notified by a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employee that they had located a crash site involving an overdue BLM worker off Nestucca River Road, about 13 miles east of Beaver.
Preliminary investigation revealed the BLM employee, later identified as Michael Steigh, age 64, of Willamina, who was driving a tractor with a brush cutter attachment, was about an hour and a half overdue which initiated a search by BLM personnel. They located Mr. Steigh in his tractor about 75-100’ down, off Nestucca River Road. They reported the driver was unresponsive but were also having difficulty making their way down the steep hill. Once fire personnel from Nestucca Fire arrived on scene and reached the crash site, they confirmed Mr. Steigh had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by BLM, Nestucca Rural Fire Protection, Oregon State Police, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, and the Tillamook County Chaplains.

ROCKAWAY BEACH, OR - On Thursday September 5, 2019 at about 02:17 am, Oregon State Police (OSP) Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single fatality two-vehicle crash on US-101 at milepost 53 south of Rockaway Beach.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Ford Mustang, operated by Jason Ringhouse, age 45, of Rockaway Beach, was traveling northbound on US-101 when it crossed the center line into the southbound lane. The Mustang collided with a 2015 Ford F150, operated by James Udenby, age 62, of Nehalem. Ringhouse was transported to the local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Family transported Udenby to the local hospital for evaluation.
US-101 southbound was closed for approximately 4 hours following the crash. Alcohol and seatbelt usage are being investigated as contributing factors by Ringhouse. Manzanita Police Department, Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office, Garibaldi Fire, Oregon Department of Transportation, and the Tillamook County District Attorney’s Office and Medical Examiner’s Office assisted OSP.
