Newport Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff's Office are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found near Agate Beach Wayside on Saturday morning. Police haven't released the deceased woman's name but that she is from Washington. The cause of the woman's death is still under investigation.
The case is still being investigated with assistance from Oregon State Police, Lincoln City Police Department, Toledo Police Department, Lincoln County Medical Examiner's Office and the Lincoln County District Attorney's Office.

The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division in Newport is asking for the public's assistance in locating the person(s) responsible for the unlawful killing and waste of a black tail deer that was discovered on Gravel Creek road near Horner Ranch.
On Friday, November 3rd, 2017, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife biologist located a black tail buck that was shot and left on Gravel Creek road. The deer appeared to have been shot the night prior and was left with no meat taken. Oregon State Police is investigating the unlawful killing and waste of the black tail deer.
A reward is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association through the Turn-in-Poachers (TIP) program for any information leading to an arrest in this or any other wildlife case. Callers can remain anonymous. The TIP program number is 1-800-452-7888.

On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at approximately 2:07 p.m., the Oregon State Police responded to a head-on two vehicle fatal crash on US Highway near milepost 14.
The preliminary investigation revealed a black Honda Civic, operated by Broderick Danielson, age 18, Astoria, was traveling northbound and lost control rotating sideways into southbound lane. A southbound silver Toyota 4-Runner, operated by Melany Bloom, age 38, Rosburg, WA was unable to stop, hitting the passenger side of the Honda. Danielson suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Hwy 101 was closed to one lane of travel for 1 hour and completely closed for an additional hour. Speed is being considered as a contributing factor for the crash. OSP was assited by Gearhart Fire Department, Gearhart Police Department, Clatsop County Sheriff's Office, and ODOT.

Salem Police detectives with the assistance of the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police SWAT arrested a subject on multiple outstanding warrants on the evening of November 13, then later charged him in the murder of Kenny Kalugin.
Twenty-one-year-old Jose Ricardo Barboza-Manzo was located at a residence in unincorporated Tillamook County on Monday afternoon. When he refused to obey commands to exit the residence, Oregon State Police SWAT was activated to assist in the arrest.
Barbanzo-Manzo later surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. In addition to warrants for his arrest on charges of:

The Better Business Bureau is warning of an email based phishing scam that targets Amazon users that looks pretty legitimate. The email says it's from Amazon.com and even includes Amazon's logo. It tells the user that “We could not confirm the address associated with your Amazon account.” and asks the user to go to a link to confirm their account information. The link leads to a website that my carry malware. This is all being done in an attempt to gain access to your personal information.
This scam is similar to one targeting Netflix users which also tells users that they need to update their account information.

There is a phishing scam making its way through email targeting Netflix users. The email tells you that there is an error in your Netflix billing information and that your account has been disabled until you update your information. The email looks official and sometimes even has a link to a website like a Netflix page. You are then asked to provide your personal information like your name, date of birth and Social Security Number. You are also asked to provide banking information.
Netflix says that they never ask for personal and banking information via email. If there is any questions about your Netflix account you need to login to your account by going to Netflix website directly.
If you receive an emails like this, Netflix says DO NOT click on any links and to simply delete the email.

Tillamook Fire (TFD) was dispatched to a possible structure fire on Stillwell after 7pm this evening. According to dispatch information, there was smoke showing. Upon arrival, TFD found an active fire.
The fire was put out quickly. It is unknown if there were any injuries or the extent of the damage at this time. Cause of fire is also unknown.
