Tillamook Softball broke it's 3 game losing streak on Monday, beating Valley Catholic 9-7.
The Cheesemakers got an early lead, up 4-1 by the end of the 4th inning, including an in the park home run.
Valley Catholic gave Tillamook a scare, scoring several runs in later innings, but it wasn't enough.
Tillamook and Valley Catholic will face each other twice more in the last two weeks of the season. Tomorrow will be the first rematch, this time with Valley Catholic hosting. The game starts at 5pm.
Tillamook sits at an overall 4-11 record, 2-7 in league play. This places them in 5th place in the Cowapa League.
The Bobcats hosted 5 teams on Thursday for a NWL Track Meet, including county rival Neah Kah Nie. As a team, both Neah Kah Nie and Nestucca finished in the middle of the pack. Nestucca Ladies placed 3rd in team results, while the Mens team placed 4th in team results. Neah Kah Nie Ladies placed 2nd in team results; Mens placed 3rd in team results
A 7th Inning surge could not save Neah Kah Nie from a 3rd straight league loss, this time against Gaston.
Gaston scored early and often against the Pirates, eventually topping them at 16-5.
Multiple runs were scored in the 7th inning, but were not enough to save the Pirates loss.
Neah Kah Nie's 3 wins this season are all from league play. They are 3-8 overall and 3-3 in league play.

Neah Kah Nie Baseball hosted Gaston today. The game proved too much for the Greyhounds. Neah Kah Nie continued the beating of Gaston that Nestucca Baseball started last Thursday.
The Pirates got on the board early, scoring 6 runs in the 1st inning. They scored 3 more by the 3rd inning. The game ended in a shut out for the Pirates: 10-0, with the game being completed at the end of the 5th inning due to league mercy rule.*
The win brings Neah Kah Nie their first league win. They are 1-3 in league play with an overall record of 9-7.
Neah Kah Nie will travel on Friday for a double header, and rematch, against Gaston in Gaston. Games will be played at 3pm and 4:30pm.
*League Mercy Rule (10 Run Rule) allows a game to be called complete in the 5th or 6th inning if a team is up by 10 or more runs. The completion of the 5th inning is considered an official game, hence the cut off.
Tillamook Baseball hosted Scappoose in league play tonight.
Scappoose got an early lead, which they would not let go of.
The first three innings saw 7 runs scored between the two teams. Scappoose scored 5 of those 7, while Tillamook scored their only two runs. Later innings saw Scappoose score 5 more runs, 3 of which were from a home run.
Final Score: Tillamook 2 -- 10 Scappoose.
Tillamook's next game is a rematch against Scappoose. The game is at 5pm at Scappoose High School.
Both Tillamook and Nestucca hosted baseball games at home today. Nestucca also hosted softball.
Both Nestucca teams hosted a double header against Gaston. Baseball saw success, winning 8-2 in the first game and winning 19-2 in the second game. Softball lost both games to Gaston: 12-0, 18-13
Tillamook Baseball hosted Astoria, but fell 6-0.

Neah Kah Nie baseball opened league play Wednesday against Knappa.
A rough few innings early in the game saw Knappa score 9 runs, with Neah Kah Nie answering with only 2 in return. Knappa took the game 9-2.
Neah Kah Nie will travel to Knappa on the 20th for a double header.
Tuesday and Wednesday brought mixed success for softball in Tillamook County.
Tuesday saw Neah Kah Nie host Knappa, Tillamook host Astoria, and Nestucca host Gaston. All three away teams proved to be too much of a match for the local schools.

Wednesday saw Neah Kah Nie travel to Delphain, while Tillamook hosted Seaside. Both teams saw better results, both getting wins.

Tillamook hosted Astoria and Seaside in a home track meet on Wednesday, 18 April 2018.
Despite seeing some success individually, both the Mens and Women's teams placed 3rd, behind Astoria (1st) and Seaside (2nd).
Tillamook's Kenny Kramer saw success, placing 1st in Mens 100m and 300m Hurdles, as well as part of the 4x100 relay (With Christopher Silveira, Zeke Coon, and Kaleb Boomer). He also placed 3rd in long jump as well as part of the 4x400 relay (With Riley Cloyd, Graydon Johnson, Ernie Chacon). Kramer's 1st place in the 100m set a personal record.
Nina Zweifel was the lone Women's track team member to place 1st in an individual event, taking the 1500m race.
