Cheesemaker Volleyball dominated both games this past week, beating Astoria 3-1 and Seaside 3-0. Both wins come off losing the final game in a tournament in Sisters over the weekend. The loss is the only loss the Cheesemakers have experienced since the 8th of September. They have won 8 out of the past 9 games they have played.
The Cheesemakers have been dominant in their games this season. They have found themselves winning 3 sets to 0 or 3 sets to 1 for most of their games.
The Cheesemakers success is in part to players putting high numbers up. They are also gaining attention around the state and from colleges. Senior Makinely Johnson has been rated as one of the best Middle Blockers in the state by the Oregonian, while Senior Isabel Hurliman has been rated as one of the top hitters by the Oregonian in the State of Oregon. This is impressive, considering the competitive level at the 5A and 6A level, while Tillamook sits at the 4A level. Hurliman has also been recruited to play college volleyball. She'll be headed to West Texas A&M. Tillamook Volleyball also has 3 other players being watched by recruiters.
