Tillamook Volleyball opened league play on Monday, hosting the Braves from Banks High School.
The Cheesemakers were able to dominate play throughout the game, but with Banks closely on their tail. Tillamook was able to take the first set 25-19. A few errors and miscommunications in the second set allowed the Braves to break through in the second set. They were determined not to go out without a fight. The second set would go to Banks, this being their only win in the game.
Losing the second set to Banks fueled the fire for Tillamook to come back and win the third and fourth sets to win the game 3 sets to 1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20). The win would be Tillamook's fourth win in a row, fifth for the season. The Cheesemakers now sit 5-3 for the season.
Previous losses were to Sweet Home, Estacada, and Kennedy, all of which were close match up losses. The five wins, though, have been dominating wins, with three games won 3-0, two won 3-1. As of September 18th, the Cheesemakers were ranked 13th in the 4A division.
The team will be heading to Sisters for the Sisters Invitational before returning home for two home games next week. The Cheesemakers will be hosting 10th ranked Astoria on Tuesday, September 25th at 630p, and 19th ranked Seaside on Thursday, September 27th at 630p.
