Thursday was a big day for Neah Kah Nie High School. It was the official dedication of the new Abrahamson Field. As Neah Kah Nie's first and only home meet of the season, it was also the first high school track meet held at the newly dedicated track and field facility.
There were 8 teams that participated in the meet, all from the Northwest League (NWL):
Each school saw some success in individual events. All the schools had at least 1 participant place in first.
Tillamook County schools, Nestucca and Neah Kah Nie, saw top 3 placings in 14 events for mens and 14 events for women's.
In mens events, Nestucca student Ben Hurliman placed first in Javelin and Triple Jump. Hurliman set a personal record in Triple Jump. NKN's Tristian Bennett was able to take the top spot in Discuss and Shot Put.
On the women's side, Dinah Schultz with Neah Kah Nie took top honors in the two longest runs of the meet; the 1500M and 3000M.
