The Neah Kah Nie Pirates faced county rivals Nestucca Bobcats on a rare Saturday meeting last week. Due to a limited amount of referees, the game was moved to Saturday the 22nd of September.
The Pirates traveled from Rockaway to the Bobcats home field in Cloverdale. They dominated the game early, scoring often through the first half of the game. The Bobcats, appeared to be tired as they went into the locker room at half time.
It was the Pirates that would appear sluggish and complacent in the second half of the game. Although they were able to put points on the board, they made mistakes on simple plays. The Bobcats, hoping to grab a win against the Pirates, capitalized on those mistakes, scoring three touchdowns in the half. In the end, it wasn't enough for the Bobcats to pull off a win at home.
