The Mens Team played host to the #1 ranked team in the 2A Classification, the Columbia Christian Knights.
The first few minutes of the matchup set the tone for the rest of the match. With players at 6'-8" and 6'-10", height proved to be an asset for the Knights, taking an early lead that they would hold on to for the whole game.
The Pirates worked at trying to minimize the score gap with a few key three point shots by several players including senior Josh Elinsky.
What was a roughly 20 point lead at the half, ended up a 38 point win for the Knights over the Pirates. Knights 84, Pirates 46.
Despite the loss, the Pirates are ranked 13th in the 2A Classification. With a 7-6 league record (11-8 overall), they are currently in 4th in the 2A Northwest League.
Neah-Kah-Nie hosted the Columbia Christian Knights on Tuesday night. The ladies kicked off the double header, with the Pirates taking the lead in the first quarter. The second quarter stared with the Pirates holding a 4 point lead, 11-7.
Neah-Kah-Nie was able to put pressure on the Knights and take advantage of mistakes. Pirate senior Alicia Cruz Lilly took advantage of the Knights errors with several break away layups, while sophomore Kyla Huntley was able to drop several buckets and free throws to add to the Pirates lead.
Neah-Kah-Nie won 38-23. The Pirates are in the middle of the lease table and are 6-7 in league play, 7-10 overall.
