The Cheesemakers Football team hosted the Banks Braves Friday night, wrapping up a week of sports duals between the two schools. Though the Cheesemakers were successful earlier in the week, the football team fell to the Braves.
There seemed to be an excitement in the air as this was the first home game since school started. A large crowd had arrived, despite the humid and wet weather that followed. Tillamook not only hosted the Braves, but also Tillamook's Class of 1968.
Banks started the game with a quick offense and a strong, difficult defense to penetrate. They were able to hold the Cheesemakers from scoring all through the first quarter. Meanwhile, the Braves were able to put 28 points on the board before the end of the first quarter.
The pressure from the away team slowed in the second quarter, allowing the Cheesemakers to capitalize on opportunities, scoring a touchdown part way through the quarter. Banks was able to put one more touch down on the board before the half.
The Cheesemakers were able to hold the Braves run in the second half, while scoring another touchdown. They ended the game losing 56-13 to Banks. Tillamook heads into next week's Homecoming game with a 2-2 record. They will be facing Molalla, who also is 2-2.
Credit is due to the cheer squad, as well as the student and band section for providing an awesome atmosphere for the game!
